Underway within the Conservancy as of November first:

A. A drive to build a broad constituency base of supporters.

B. Capitalization efforts to arrive at initial funding goals.

C. The preliminary delineation of North American regions and the design of a regional chapter program. The staffing of those chapters would work to monitor issues, programs and conditions unique to those regions.

D. Within the above referenced regions, the identification of what might become Potluck Societies within given Watersheds. Those societies to maintain social call-lists in the event of member emergencies and dire need.

E. The compilation of transcripts from regional brainstorming sessions targeted at on-farm education and farmland preservation issues. These materials will be utlilized to help formulate programs and positions for the Conservancy’s Apprenticeship Clearinghouse and Farms in Trust programs.

F. The continuing refinement of the Conservancy’s insurance program in preparation for full implementation.

G. The collaboration with Small Farmer’s Journal to design a dynamic electronic farmer’s markeplace and directory.

H. The continuing refinement of the SFC website as an ultimate repository for a vast archive of small farm information.
